As I continued to experience debilitating pain from two severe car accidents and related stress, I chose to seek Jerry’s support as a life coach. It would take pages to describe all the ways he has helped me manage stress and pain through mindfulness exercises made available on audios through his website. My PTSD symptoms decreased in frequency and intensity. He helped me see light when there was none. He helped me prioritize my issues with health care, insurance, my relationships, SSD...which are often overwhelming. He helped my grown son in his quest for veterans’ benefits. He has helped countless vets and individuals with their pain and challenges in life. This man deserves a standing ovation for all the good he has done for others. I wish I knew how to gather them all together to honor his contributions to our lives. Thank you, Jerry! ~ Mary H., Oregon
Jerry is a kind, thoughtful and knowledgeable coach who has a knack for identifying the issues while finding steps to help you cope and heal! Such a positive individual! Just look at the positive quotes he posts on his Facebook pages... He is an American Veteran and has been through so much in his life. His ability to help others through his own personal experiences is unmatched! – Deborah F., Oregon
Jerry is very professional while still being personable, and genuinely wants his clients to find inner peace and be able to succeed in life. No matter what you are dealing with, I suggest giving this a chance. This is not an easy fix, it is not a band-aid that we can mask the problem with. Instead, this program provides you with tools to be able to take control of your thoughts, and to be present in your life. It takes hard work on your part, but I can honestly say it is worth it. Jerry and his program have helped me to change my life in the best way possible. I have recommended him to many of my friends and family, and will continue to do so. - Sam H., Oregon
Sarah J. came into my office looking completely frazzled. Sitting on the couch, her hands were noticeably shaking, and her voice quivered as she talked about her life.
“In 2016, I graduated college and moved back here. Basically, I feel like I’m starting my life over, finding a career and trying to figure it all out. I’m also going from being an athlete and having someone dictate my schedule my whole life. I just don’t know what to do so I don’t do anything. I’ve felt depressed starting back in 2007 and now my most recent bout of depression started about three days ago. I began experiencing anxiety in 2015 and I had two panic attacks in 2017 where I almost went to the hospital. I know my stress comes from not having money more than anything. Even though nothing about my work is stressful, sometimes the thought of going or being there can send me into an anxiety attack for no reason. I would like to get my anxiety and depression under control and have my overall happiness at a higher level.”
At 6 weeks into the program, Sarah was taking on a part-time art teaching job, addressing medical issues that she had been avoiding, and demanding a raise at her full-time job.
At the end of the 8 weeks, she said, “I tell people that no matter what they’re dealing with, I suggest giving this program a chance. This is not an easy fix; it is not a band-aid that we can mask the problem with. Instead, this program provided me with tools to be able to take control of my thoughts, and to be present in my life. It took hard work on my part, but I can honestly say it is worth it. This program has helped me to change my life in the best way possible.”
Sarah, like most people, still had ups and downs in her life though. Over the course of a year, she had made plans to move to Denver with her fiancé for a job opportunity that would benefit both of them. Unfortunately, the plans didn’t work out and she had to retain her local job. The upside was that she got to stay around her family and friends. She also felt relieved that they weren’t out any cash for moving.
Sarah uses the 3-Minute Close-Up several times a day to monitor how she’s doing. She loves the ease and quickness. Sarah also practices the 5 senses exercise and the mindful breathing technique almost daily. She has gotten a pit bull terrier named Butch and he helps keep her in the present moment.
The increased awareness that Sarah has gained from working on these mindfulness practices has been a true lifesaver for her. Recently, her doctor changed one of her medications that she had been taking for years without a problem. With the change, there was a major problem. Sarah dropped into a deep depression when her doctors changed her medications. She began having suicidal thoughts and feelings of “I don’t care anymore.” Knowing that these thoughts and feelings were not how she had been for the past several months, she came in to see me.
We discussed how her awareness had brought her to see that it was the medication changes, not her that had gone off the deep end. She contacted her doctor that same day and had her medications changed back to the way they had been. It was night-and-day difference for her mood. Her new awareness skills have also allowed her to be comfortable with getting engaged and with changing jobs for less stress and more creativity in her day.
